At the spot where the Pitt and Fraser river intersect is where Port Coquitlam is located. The population of the city is over 55,000 and continues to grow. This is largely due to the wonderful facilities in the city, as well as it's natural beauty. The real estate market in Port Coquitlam is very healthy and continues to grow. There are amazing schools in the area, plenty of opportunities for recreation activities, and some of the most spectacular natural parks in the lower mainland.
There is a very convenient local transit system that allows commuters to get into the city very easily. The road system also allows for an easy commute. Like many areas outside of Vancouver, people find that buying properties in Port Coquitlam is more affordable and still provides easy access to the necessary facilities and family needs. The Tri-Cities commerce chamber includes Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam. There are many thriving businesses in the local area, most are drawn to Port Coquitlam due it's small town feel.
There are many local recreation opportunities in Port Coquitlam, including the superb Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre. For those looking for a gym facility with a great swimming pool, there is also the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre. You can take the Traboulay PoCo trail to get close to nature, and there are also many golf courses in the area including the Carnoustie Golf Course. Check out a play at the Terry Fox theatre, or dine at some of the fine establishments that make Port Coquitlam a great place to live.
