
Located at the top of the Burrard Inlet lies the town of Port Moody. It has a nice small town feel to it and is home to around 25,000 residents. It's only a 30 minute drive to Vancouver, so it's little wonder why more people are choosing to buy real estate in the Port Moody area. Because it's so close to Vancouver, it makes for an easy commute on public transit or by car. Being in the shadow of Eagle Mountain and it's natural beauty doesn't hurt either.
There are plenty of opportunities for employment in Port Moody, with new industries popping up on a regular basis. Moving to Port Moody is a pretty easy decision for people to make. The film industry is a staple of the local economy, as is the fishing and agricultural industries. There are many excellent local schools for your children to attend, and the added safety of such a small community is very appealing. Being so close to both Simon Fraser and UBC allows children seeking post secondary schooling to not have to leave home.
Known by those in the community as the "City of the Arts", there are many cultural facilities and artists in Port Moody. The Port Moody Arts Centre is an amazing auditorium, and there are great galleries and classes available to the public. Whatever you want from your life, Port Moody has an option.
